Nο matter hοw good уου аrе everyone needs thе occasional golf lessons. If уου аrе a beginner οr уουr game needs a lot οf improvement thеn golf lessons аrе probably a muѕt.

One qυеѕtіοn уου mау аѕk yourself іѕ, аrе golf lessons really necessary? Aftеr аƖƖ thе aim οf thе game seems tο bе solely tο hit a ball іntο a small hole, surely іt саn’t bе thаt hard tο master? Tο bе hοnеѕtƖу thаt’s fine іf јυѕt hitting a ball аnԁ getting a ƖіttƖе exercise іѕ аƖƖ уου want tο ԁο, bυt іf уου really want tο master thе game οf golf thеn having lessons іѕ a necessity ѕο уου саn ɡеt аѕ much out οf thе game аѕ possible.

Private Golf Lessons

Golf lessons саn bе quite costly especially іf уου hаνе private lessons. Hοwеνеr, thеrе аrе advantages tο having private lessons. One οf thе best things іѕ thаt уου саn set уουr οwn pace. In a group thіѕ іѕ more difficult.

Wіth private lessons, уου аrе calling thе shots (аѕ уου аrе paying fοr thеm), ѕο іt іѕ a ɡοοԁ іԁеа tο ԁесіԁе exactly whаt раrt οf уουr game уου want tο concentrate οn improving. Of course іf уου аrе οnƖу јυѕt starting tο play golf аnԁ уου hаνе nο іԁеа аbουt thе game, уου’re talking аbουt basic golf lessons, аnԁ thе best way tο ѕtаrt іѕ аt thе beginning аnԁ work уουr way upwards аnԁ onwards.

A qualified golf instructor wіƖƖ give уου a ɡοοԁ grounding іn thе basics οf golf аnԁ wіƖƖ ensure уουr game hаѕ improved bу thе еnԁ οf еνеrу lesson.

Group Golf Lessons

If уου саn’t afford private golf lessons bυt уου аrе really kееn tο асqυіrе lots more golfing knowledge thеn thіnk аbουt learning іn a group wіth οthеr people. Yου won’t ɡеt quite thе individual attention thаt уου ԁο іn a private lesson, bυt уου wіƖƖ still learn a lot plus уου wіƖƖ hаνе οthеr people tο commiserate wіth whеn things ɡο wrοnɡ аnԁ celebrate whеn thеу ɡο rіɡht.

Group golf lessons аrе much cheaper thаn private ones bесаυѕе thеrе аrе a number οf people learning frοm thе one instructor. Yου wіƖƖ find thеrе аrе different types οf group golf lessons whісh range іn lessons fοr thе complete beginner tο those fοr different skills such аѕ putting аnԁ driving. AƖƖ уου need tο ԁο іѕ ԁесіԁе whісh program suits уου thе best аnԁ ɡеt yourself booked οn.

Practice Mаkеѕ Perfect

Golf lessons аrе ɡrеаt аnԁ yes thеу аrе nесеѕѕаrу tο improve уουr skills. Hοwеνеr one οf thе mοѕt іmрοrtаnt things уου need tο ԁο іѕ tο practice whаt уου′ve learned between thе lessons. If уου don’t practice уουr game won’t improve аnԁ уου′ll find those golf lessons hаνе nοt done уου much ɡοοԁ аt аƖƖ.

Every golfer wants to increase distance. Whether it's with the driver or the irons, more distance with each club in the bag can ultimately mean lower golf scores. Golf swing training aids are a great way to increase distance, and they are often cheaper than golf lessons. Here are 3 aids that increase distance dramatically.

#1) A Swing Plane Trainer

Swing plane trainers are the absolute best way to increase distance. When a golfer swings on plane, club-head speed is maximized and power is increased without having to swing any harder.

Ever notice that some professionals have a silky smooth swing, yet still hit bomb the ball with every club? That's because they swing on-plane.

#2) A Weighted Club

Weighted golf clubs, whether they are weighted drivers or irons, help in mastering tempo of the swing and increasing swing speed.

Mastering tempo allows for the golfer to hit the ball more solidly every time, no matter which club.

With weighted clubs, proper release is encouraged because of the increased weight through the impact zone. This helps the wrists to release through the hitting area, which increases swing speed, which in turn increases distance of the golf shot.

If a golfer swings these weighted clubs often enough, obviously this can increase muscle strength of the "golf muscles", which can also increase distance.

#3) A Practice Net

Hitting into a golf practice net is a great way to increase distance. It's a fact that many people mis-hit the ball on the golf course because they simply don't put the necessary time into practicing on the range.

It can be a tough thing to get to the range for many weekend golfers. They'll often hit for 10 or 15 minutes right before the round, but other than that, not touch a club for the entire rest of the week! This is because they either don't have the time, or the money to keep going to the range.

An easy way to get more practice is to set up a hitting net at home. Hitting more balls becomes a much simpler proposition when hitting balls means stepping out in the back yard, garage, or basement to the practice net. Of course, the more balls a golfer hits, the more solidly and consistently the golfer will hit shots, which means more distance.

There are three of the top golf-swing training aids golfers can use for increasing distance. Each of these alone are priced much cheaper than a couple months of golf lessons, and for some golfers can work just as well.

When you watch golf tournaments on television, you will notice how smartly dressed the competitors are. Some players are more conservative than others in their choice of golf clothing but without exception, they will be wearing well fitting sweaters and shirts, tailored trousers, smart jackets and matching overtrousers if the weather is wet or windy.

These players are demonstrating the importance of wearing the best golf clothes to enhance, not hinder the way they play. But how does the amateur golfer find the best golf clothing?

Shopping on the high street

You will not find the best golf clothing on the high street where the fashion is about looks and not performance and durability. Some sports shops will have a small range of golf clothing but to find the best choice, you will have to look elsewhere.

Golf shops

The majority of golf clubs have a shop on their premises, usually run by the club professional, where a range of golf equipment and clothing is sold. Many people think that these shops are open to club members only but this is not correct and members of the public are very welcome. The range of clothing in these shops will vary but most will stock a basic selection.

The best choice - online.

Undoubtedly the place to find the best clothing today is online where you can browse the widest selection of shirts, sweaters, trousers, shorts, jackets, overtrousers, hats, gloves and shoes before you buy. Most of this clothing is endorsed by professional players who know from first hand experience the importance of comfortable clothing which provides functionality with style and durability. Special materials are used particularly in the manufacture of waterproof clothing to provide a high level of protection whilst leaving the wearer able to play golf in the rain without feeling restricted in any way.

Recently, the importance of a suitable base layer of clothing, especially when playing golf in the winter, has been recognised leading to the development of an extensive range of specialised underwear which not only regulates the temperature of the player but enhances performance at the same time. The best range of this special underwear is to be found online.

Conclusion

The best golf clothing is smart, functional and fashionable. There are several places where it can be bought but nowadays the best range is to be found online.

If you want to improve your golf game then you are going to have to work at it. However, we understand that you don't have a lot of time to practice. Who would want to spend hours on the range or practice green anyway when they could be on the course actually playing? So, our drills are meant to give you the most bang for your buck. To get you better in as little time as possible. Let's take a look at ways to improve your short game so you get up and down more often.

Distance Wedges

The short game is when you get inside the distance of a full lob wedge. Normally, to get the feel for how to hit a single lob or sand wedge at different distances from inside of 100 yards would require a TON of practice over weeks or months at a time. Instead what I recommend is to keep four wedges in your bag: a 60 degree lob wedge, sand wedges of 56 & 52 degrees, and a pitching wedge.

You need to practice four different swings: the quarter swing, half swing, 3/4 swing and your full swing. You will have 16 different options for hitting the ball at different distances, ranging from around 25 yards to 130 yards depending on how far you hit the ball.

You are going to need a partner when practicing your different swings in order to get accurate measurements on the distances you hit each swing with the different clubs that you use. Tour pros usually have someone stand around the distance that they expect the ball to fly, who would then stand in the location after the ball hits the ground. The pro can then "laser" the person to get an accurate yardage. If you can get a measurement of 25, 50, 75, 100, and 125 yards, then you can have your partner watch where the ball lands and give you an estimate of the distance. You can obviously estimate the distances yourself, but you need to be able to clearly see how far each shot is carrying, bad information here will be much worse for your game than no information.

Bunker Play

Playing out of the sand is difficult for beginning players, but a little bit of practice can go a long way. One of the main problems we have is that we usually don't have greenside bunkers to practice out of in the practice courses we usually go to. If this is the case at the course you practice at, try to go out of a hole with a sand trap by the green and hit some practice shots. This is best done in the off hours when only a few players are out on the course, so you can get some shots in without disrupting play.

You need to practice two different shots. The first one is the shot around 10 yards. These are relatively easy shots to play since even if you hit the ball fat then you can get it relatively close. The second shot is between 15-20 yards. You don't necessarily need a pin to use as a target; you can either use a group of tees down or use a handkerchief as a makeshift target.

Practicing these two types of short games will enable you to greatly improve your scores. Each type of shot is faced multiple times in the course of a round; whether it's on short par four's and par five's or when you miss the green on an approach shot.

If you're playing with used golf clubs or your golf clubs are quite old, be sure and check them out to determine their condition. If they're more than 5 years old, you definitely have not kept up with the latest technology. Also you and/or the previous owner have probably struck a few rocks over the years which can do heavy damage to clubs. You really don't want a mixed bag of clubs either. Having a cavity backed 7 iron and a solid backed 8 iron makes striking the ball inconsistent.

Another thing to consider when you've had your clubs for a while is new grips. It really depends on how often you play golf, but clubs should be re-griped each golfing season and more often if you play 2 or 3 times a week. Grips vary in sizes and cost. Don't get the cheapest and you don't need to get the most expensive either. The proper size depends on your clubs and the size of your hands. I recommend going to a golf shop and get a professional recommendation for the best grips for your clubs and budget. If you can't grip your clubs with a relaxed grip without them slipping, you're going to hit poor shots. Another good indication you need grips is you have to use a death grip on the club to keep it from slipping out of your hands. I would also have the pro shop or golf store put the grips on for you so it will be done correctly with the right materials.

You need the clubs that fit your height and size. I'm 5'9" and my little brother is 6'5" tall. Do you think we could or should use the same clubs? No way, it's obvious that doesn't make sense. So before you buy that used or new set of clubs make sure they're measured for your height, arm length, girth, etc. If they're not right, you'll make swing adjustments to get the club on the ball and that's always a bad idea.

Another thing to consider for your clubs is their shafts. Some consider steel shafts old fashioned, but that is not the case for your golf game. Graphite shafts are more popular because golfers think they look cooler and they're the latest technology. It really depends on the level of player you are and your gender and your age. Again ask a professional in the pro shop and he can tell you what you should probably be playing with. In some case it even depends on the type of club whether it's a fairway wood or a wedge.

And last but certainly not least are the golf balls in general that you play with. I have friends that can't play golf without constantly looking for golf balls lost in the rough, ditches, etc. If you're acquiring balls in this manner, you're probably playing with old balls, new balls and a variety of manufactured balls. This also results in inconsistency in your game. Let me just say this once, "Pro V1 golf balls are for the Pros." That's why they're called Pro V1. A hacker or duffer or want to be 10 handicapper, but is really a 25 handicapper should not be using these balls. Give the ones you find to your clueless friends who will be eternally grateful and certainly don't waste your hard earned money on buying these very expensive golf balls.

In summary a good combo of equipment and your own skills will go a long way in making the game of golf more fun to play and just may result in lowering your scores.

Impact is the most important part of the golf swing. This is when the club makes contact with the ball and the rest of the swing is simply leading up to and continuing from this position. Working on other parts of the golf swing can increase odds of having a good impact position. While, it's important to get other parts of the swing correct and in order, here I'm going to focus on the exact keys that are necessary to produce a solid and consistent strike of the golf ball.

The first key is to make sure your clubface is square at impact. When the clubface points right or left at impact, your shots will tend to go in that direction. It's helpful to have a square clubface for as long as possible through the impact zone. This gives the golfer a greater chance of hitting the ball with a square clubface. I teach having less arm rotation than some golf instructors teach. There is more chance to hit the ball straight when the club face is square longer close to the impact zone.

Swinging your club on a correct swing plane will lead to a good impact position. If your club is too steep at the top of your backswing, it can come into the ball steeply and a golfer may take bigger divots. This will slow the club head down so you won't hit your shots as solidly. A golfer that is too flat with their swing plane can struggle with the opposite problem and smetimes catch the ball too thin.

Another important concept is to have a width golf swing arc. This gives the club face a longer chance to stay square and make solid contact with the golf ball at impact. The longer time the club is in good position in and near the impact zone, the better your golf shots are going to be and the more consistent you will be also.

Keeping your arms extended through the golf impact zone will help you as well. Golfers who bend their arms near this area will struggle with their ball striking. The more you can compress the golf ball while maintaining good extension, the more power and acceleration you will be able to have also. This is connected with your swing arc so try to have good extension for more solid golf shots. The hands should lead at impact slightly but the arms will remain fully extended. This allows the golfer to compress the ball and have better results with their golf shots.

If you have it, you know what it is, but you may not know how to fix it. After all if you knew, you wouldn't be reading this. There are two keys that will guide you through how to cure a slice in golf: understanding why it happens and doing drills to keep it from happening again.

Even though with a slice the ball curves right, it happens because your club is moving left, across your body. The head of the club is facing out, away from your body. This causes the ball to spin clockwise. This creates a low pressure system on the inside of the spin that pulls the ball to the right. Essentially it's easier for the ball to move through the air to the right, so that's where it goes.

This specific action can come about because of a couple of reasons. It's likely a combination of more than one. Put yourself in front of a mirror and watch your swing. Feel the way your body moves through the ball. Do it slowly so that you feel each movement. This isn't about flinging the ball two-hundred yards down the fairway, it's about awareness.

Are your hands too tight? Are they twisting the club? Are your arms moving in a flat plane? Watch the way the face of your club is pointing. Feel where your arms are moving and how your legs are moving. It's also extremely common for beginning golfers to swing too hard at the ball or to hack at it. Let the weight of the club and the length of your swing provide the power. Using too much power causes you to tense up and lose control.

Now that you've analyzed your swing take a look at these exercises and see which will help you out. Keep your mirror handy and pay attention to the feel of your swing. The slice is a problem that comes from poor feel for your swing. You aren't paying attention to your body's feedback. Work on each of these exercises at a slow speed.

First, relax your hands. You don't need to strangle the club. Remind yourself to relax your hands. Don't let the club start wobbling or getting sloppy, as looseness can be the problem for your average golfer. Feel the weight distribution, especially how the head is heavier than the shaft.

Now exaggerate your swing and head placement in the opposite direction from your current swing. Push the club out to the right and swivel the head in towards the left. Remember to swing slowly. If you're hitting a ball it should go to the left, but with a full swing you'd end up with a hook or a draw.

Drilling this opposing motion will help you to correct your slice and gain feel for your swing. Now you can address your power. You should not be pushing or pulling the club towards the ball. Let it fall naturally through its arch. Let your arms guide the club rather than swinging it at the ball.

Once your swing has improved don't forget these slow motion drills. Revisit them and they will continue to reward you. You will gain more control and better feel. It will do more than teach you how to cure a slice in golf, but also to be a better golfer.

For those golfers who are just starting their hobby, beginner golf is definitely for you. With that being said, it does not mean that you cannot go to a golf course and practice there, because you can. Everyone is welcome to play golf anywhere. But probably, the best place for beginner golf would have to be the driving range.

A better venue for practice should be done in driving range would be because for one reason, it is so much cheaper rather than to go to a golf course, rent a golf cart, rent a trainer. It is so much more affordable to go to driving range; since you are just a newbie at golf, a driving range is enough. But if money is not an issue, then go ahead and drive through that golf course. For a beginner, golf driving range can definitely help you in your focus because the trainer will be right next to you and can guide you with each mistake. It would also be more convenient because usually, there are tee girls who would prepare the ball for you. Unlike in a golf course where you have to do it all on your own unless you hire caddies who would carry your golf clubs, give you the balls, and drive your golf cart.

An obvious warning is that golf is a very expensive sport, equipment alone costs a lot, and then you have the venue then the people who would be helping you. Of course after each golf experience of game, your golf clubs would be dirty, that is no surprise given the fact that it has everything to do with connecting to the ground or the soil. No matter what you do, your golf clubs will get dirty, and here are some materials that you will need for cleaning your golf clubs. Whether your golf clubs are new or not, you still have to clean them. As a newbie, you do not want anyone to know or see your golf clubs filled with dirt. You must discipline yourself even as a beginner because golf requires a lot of this attitude.

In cleaning your golf clubs, you do not need to purchase expensive cleaning materials. You can use the stuff that is found inside your home. A liquid detergent, a scrubbing material like toothbrush and of course an old towel to dry the clubs is the things that you actually need to clean them. Although there are golf club cleaning sets available, but these stuff will certainly give the same results without the need of spending much money. It is not a matter of what type of cleaning kits you use, but on how you maintain the cleanliness of the clubs after each golf game.

An important skill that you need to acquire in playing golf is to have a humble heart and be open to criticisms. You are not a professional yet, no matter how many books for golf you have read, you still have a long way to go, so be patient and humble. When your trainers correct you for doing a wrong swing, follow though, backswing or whatever, be open and accept it with full humility. After all, you won't be corrected for something if you are doing it right. Being humble is a must-have attitude for a beginner for golf is not only a sport but it teaches the right values and attitude as well.

Are you one of those golfers who struggle on hitting a driver straight? One of the most difficult clubs to use for a golfer is probably the driver. This is because of the small amount of loft plus the long shaft of the driver. Some newbie golfers do not even have an idea on how to hit a driver consistently.

There are several tips on how a golfer can achieve this goal. First thing that you need to consider is the length of the club head face. The height of your club is important when you want to tee the ball correctly. Longer tees are recommended in order to hit a driver. As much as possible, you may want tee up the ball higher than the normal height of the tee. By doing this, the error of hitting a driver is minimized. One of your goals is to have the ball reach up the air quickly, and this method will definitely achieve it.

Another thing that a golfer must do is to be conscious of your grip and position. There are golfers who do not stand correctly and grip the club too tight. Remember that your back should be straight and also must bend from the hips. There are golfers who tend to hunch their shoulders instead of having a straight back. This incorrect setup position leads to the problem on how to hit straight the driver and as well as faulty and inconsistent shot.

Your golf swing is also crucial in hitting a driver straight. Learn how to execute the proper swing techniques. Once a golfer fails to execute the proper way of golf swing, it would surely lead to a failed shot. Thus it is very essential for a golfer to start the backswing on the right plane. Make sure that your club should taken to the outside, because if not, you are sure going to have a problem in hitting the driver.

Alignment is also another important factor to hit the driver. All other techniques will become useless if you cannot properly align to the target. A swoosh sound is heard as soon as the head of the club brushes the ground. This sound will indicate that you everything is aligned and positioned correctly.

Lastly, to ensure that you will be able to hit a driver is your golf swing accuracy. Although a lot of golfers aim their every shot, yet consistently miss it at one point. According to some PGA players, that specific aim should be done. If you aim on hitting the ball on either the left or right, then you should hit it from where you are trying to hit it in your mind.

You should also avoid to over swinging your driver. Golfers have the tendency to hit the ball too hard because they think that the driver was supposed to do that. More often than not, hitting too hard will result to getting the ball out of bounds or landing in another fairway. It could lead to higher golf handicap because of the strokes added to your golf score. So avoid over swinging your club and try to maintain a natural swing with your driver. You will surely see better results and you will be hitting a driver straight more consistently. Of course, it is important to keep on practicing what you have learned too.

Having to do a golf swing is a lot harder as it looks. Sure it may seem easy but once you get to know the right way to swing at golf, everything about your perspective will change. Mastering the proper swing is really difficult to do especially for beginners. It is hard but not impossible.

In trying to have a better golf swing is something that usually takes a lot of time, patience, and balance and eye hand coordination. You must also be equipped with the proper grip because it also contributes in you having that perfect swing. Again, it is difficult to master but not impossible. All you need to attain to have a good golf swing is to know the proper technique and steps to do it. You can either ask your golf instructor or trainer to help you or, you can just simply read this article instead that will provide ways to help you learn the techniques. Though most professional golfers do have their signature golf swing, they still started from the basic and it also took a while for them to do better in the game. Having a signature golf swing is great if you are a professional and you are doing the swing right, so before everything goes to your head, master the basics first.

The first thing that you need to do in order for you to have a better golf swing is to start to put your legs and feet together, yes that includes your toes, ankles, knees and thighs. Put them all together to get to the proper swinging position. Next step, try bringing your club over your stronger shoulder or hand, do a simple swing and bring that club across your back. Then after that, try following through and bring your strong hand hell off the ground-you will know that you are doing it correctly when you are on your tip toes. Keep practicing these basic techniques to get better until you can already do it with your legs spread and your feet is apart.

Truthfully, you can have all the best teachers or trainers in the world, but if you do not have the heart to learn or the willingness to improve to get what you want, nothing will happen. Patience, perseverance and determinations are the values that you must possess in order to become successful. They actually say that values are caught and not taught. So, you must have these values within or innate in you for you to become the best golfer that you can be. You should observe how you play the game; learn what mistakes you make on every golf swing that you make. You can do this by video recording your golf game and watch it later on. In this manner, you will know which areas to enhance and which error should be avoided.

You know that there is always room for improvement and everybody must strive for the best, which is why you must practice and learn from experienced golfers because they actually know what they are doing for they have done most of it already, plus they have been where you are now. They did not become excellent golfers overnight. They worked hard, practiced and applied everything that they got from their golf instructors to achieve a better golf swing.
